NTA has revised the JEE Main pattern for 2025, introducing new question types and a revised marking scheme. Here's everything you need to know.

What Changed in 2025?

The biggest change is the removal of Section B (integer type) from Physics and Chemistry. All questions are now single correct MCQs, making the paper more predictable but also more competitive.

Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech): - Physics: 30 questions (4 marks each, -1 for wrong) - Chemistry: 30 questions (4 marks each, -1 for wrong) - Mathematics: 30 questions (4 marks each, -1 for wrong) - Total: 300 marks, 3 hours

Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning): - Mathematics + Aptitude + Drawing (B.Arch) or Planning (B.Planning)

Cutoff Predictions for 2025

Based on the last 3 years' trends and the new pattern, here are our cutoff predictions:

CategoryExpected Cutoff

Top Preparation Strategy

1. **Focus on NCERT first** — 60% of questions are directly from NCERT concepts 2. **Practice previous year papers** — Last 10 years' papers are gold 3. **Mock tests** — Take at least 2 full mocks per week in the final month 4. **Time management** — Aim to finish each section in 55 minutes, leaving 5 minutes for review
